Girls Night Out

Thank you Krista for organizing one last hurrah before Baby Barber decides to make an appearance. I had a blast. After our yummy meal, we headed over to Bells Ferry Road and painted pieces of pottery at Just Fired. I chose a picture frame, which I hope turns out with a primary colored plaid motif. We talked Michelle into coming to chit chat with us. We finalized the evening of course, with a yummy beverage from Starbucks. Krista and Michelle walked away with a pair of shoes a piece.....(hey it's not our fault, a shoe store was attached to the Starbucks). Thank you ladies for a wonderful evening. The conversation was fabulous, we should do this more often.

We started out the evening with a fabulous meal at Chili's....
I love their chips and salsa. The Quesadilla Explosion salad
wasn't bad either.

Holly, ever so meticulous, paints with precision.

36 WEEKS!

I'm hot! Okay, that's the only complaint, I'll give. Went to the doctor on Wednesday, all is well. I'm measuring perfectly and my blood pressure is fabulous. Just anxiously awaiting the arrival of this precious one.

A playdate with Samuel!

Riley Jack and Samuel had a great day playing together this week.It is always interesting to watch little kids interacting....before they've learned how to be socially appropriate. HaHa! We had a great lunch that the Pizza Guy (girl) brought. Yum, yum. The funniest part of the day...as we were getting ready to leave, and we were getting loaded up into the van, Samuel decided he wanted to get back in the pool. Well, he didn't have his swimsuit on so, he just took off his underwear and got back in naked. It brought quite the giggle. I'll leave out the part about peeing in the bushes.....NOT. Love you Holly, thanks for letting us play.

Riley Jack and Samuel helped to water Ms. Holly's flowers!

Playing in the pool was a fun hot weather activity!

What a beautiful smile Samuel.

The boys also enjoyed riding "bikes". RJ kept trying to ride
Samuel's big boy bicycle.

A visit from Baba and Pop Pop

June 20th was scheduled as surgery day. Riley Jack was slated to receive his 2nd pair of tubes in his ears and also a possible removal of his addnoids. We went in Tuesday for his pre-op appt., and Dr. Parks left it up to me whether or not to proceed with the surgery. His ears looked great! Of course I said let's cancel. Cheryl and Buddy who planned on coming up for the surgery, came up anyway. Cheryl, myself and the boys had a great time swimming in the pool on Friday. Riley Jack was dying to show Baba that he could do it (swim) all by himself. We celebrated Jordan's 13th birthday with a fabulous dinner at Red Lobster. Jordan's favorite foods are steak and lobster....go figure.

After refinishing our hardwoods in the foyer and kitchen and adding new hardwoods to the half bath and new closet, Pop had the arduous task of putting back in the pedestal sink and toilet. The toilet went in just fine......the sink was a different matter. I had the bright idea of going ahead and painting the bathroom while the sink and toilet were still out....makes sense right? Nothing to get in the way. Anyway, after wiping down the walls and cleaning the baseboards, I wasn't allowed to paint. So......Buddy and Cheryl painted for me. Painting is their least favorite thing to do...I appreciate the job very much. Between the painting and Michael freaking out over getting paint on the hardwoods (it had not been sealed yet, b/c we had a water issue while putting down the new hardwoods), all is well and the bathroom looks great. Now if I could just get Michael to hang the mirror, the shelf and the two pictures, all will be complete.

I can do it BaBa all by myself!
Look at me, I'm swimming!!!!!
This is Riley Jack's cheese face. I can't get the boy to smile and look at the camera anymore.
Jordan is way too cool in the water.

ADDIE GRACE

When I showed Riley Jack these photos, his response was...."Is that my Addie Grace?" I answered yes, these photos were taken at a TCCC Softball game. Krista and DJ are Addie Grace's mommy and daddy and are good friends of ours.

Goldman's and Five Guys!

Dwayne and Kara Goldman are on furlough after almost a year spent in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Last August, the whole family....Kara, Dwayne and their three kids; Manning, Brennan, and Abigail headed for their first leg of a three year stint as missionaries in Chelyabinsk. This place is very dear to Michael and my heart. In 1991 as a 16 year old, I traveled to Chelyabinsk on a "cultural" exchange program. We went to share Jesus, and share Jesus we did. 17 years later, the "seed" we planted is still being sown. In 1993, Michael and I went with the New Way Singers. A Florida State Youth Choir. In 2000, Michael and I went back with Kara and Dwayne to lead ministries for youth, dance and sports. Check out their blog spot. www.taleoftwosheep.blogspot.com

Andrei, the guy in the middle has served faithfully, since that very first trip, as a guide and an interpreter.

Michael and I are looking forward to spending a little more time with the Goldman's when they come back to visit us for a few days in early July.

Riley Jack & Hailey....Summer Fun!

NOTHING BETTER THAN A POPSICLE ON A HOT HOT DAY!
After nearly two weeks of not seeing each other, I brought Hailey home with me after running some errands. We were getting our air ducts cleaned out the same day.....so, the kids were forced to stay outside. It didn't take long and soon they were HOT! Big brother Jordan filled up the itty bitty pool and they both had a great time. A little more time passed and both kiddos proceeded to transfer sand from RJ's sand box into the pool....YIKES! After the sand, came the beach towels into the pool with the sand. YUCK! It didn't take long for the kiddo's to dry with no towels. Overall, they had a great time and only tried to hurt each other once or twice...jk. Thanks Shelli for allowing Hailey to come over.

Riley Jack's BIG BOY BED

Riley Jack has hit the big time.....he is now sleeping in a big boy bed....ie a twin bed....not a toddler bed. We found this bed on Craigs List. It's a little tall...but RJ just climbs right up the knobs of the dresser. Don't you love the sheets? Cheryl and I found them for 5 bucks at a Westpoint Outlet in TN over Christmas break. The 6 drawers do not actually attach to the bed...so later on, we can slide a trundle underneath and store the drawers. Cool huh!
Riley Jack getting ready for his very first night......stoic isn't he?
Riley Jack does this cute little snore thing.....here he is now, "pretending" to be asleep.
2nd night....RJ is actually sleeping in this photo. After the first night, we went out a got a bed rail and a quilt to complete the ensemble. RJ will "share" the babies room for now...a little later we will move him into his very own room. One step at a time. Sweet dreams Angell baby!!!

Kentucky Day Three

Prepping for departure (ie...putting sunscreen on) Jordan got a little carried away with the face sunscreen.
Jordan started skiing three years ago. He has improved immensely and I think next year he will move up and try to get up on one ski. He tried a few daredevil tricks like: holding the rope with his mouth, crossing the wake and waving to us. We are super proud of you Jordan and can't wait to see what you do next summer.
Riley Jack was fascinated by Jordan skiing. He watched every move he made. The "thumbs up Jordan" was way too cute.
I wanna drive Daddy.......
