Riley Jack's 3rd Birthday
After last year we decided to go low key for Riley Jack's 3rd birthday. We invited a few friends to our local and brand new Chick fil a. Of course it had a play place. Curious George was a the theme of the day and Mommy pulled out all the stops and made cup cakes from scratch. (Thanks RaRa for the recipe...it was to die for). Anyway, the kids knocked themselves out and had a great time. Thanks so much for making this day special!

Celebrating RJ's 3rd birthday in FL
After dinner at the Sizzling Grill, we went back to mom's house and ate yummy birthday cake, made from scratch by RaRa (Roxanne). RaRa is Missy and my Godmother. She has been involved in our lives since birth. She is the aunt we have never had. Needless to say she is awesome. Anyway, she made Riley Jack this really cool birthday cake. It looked like a race track and had little race cars on it made out of Milky Way bars. The pictures are absolutely priceless. Thanks RaRa for making Riley Jack feel so special.
More spring break...Dinner at the Sizzling Grill
Thursday night we ventured out and had dinner at the Sizzling Grill. Ya know there is not much to chose from in Good ol Lake Wales. Riley Jack being almost three was all over the place and forced to sit in the high chair buckled up! I know I know...I'm a mean mommy, but, I did get to enjoy my dinner: and a yummy steak it was. Brooklynne of course was perfect. She smiled and cooed for the first five minutes and then was out like a light.
Thanks Roxanne for a yummy dinner and for celebrating all of our birthdays....

Brooklynne Kennedy 3 months
Brooklynne Kennedy is growing like a weed at 3 months old. Isn't she beautiful? Missy is a fabulous mother and is continuing to nurse like a champ. I am so proud of her. We had a great week just hanging out.
Riley Jack was a big helper and loved to "take care" of Brooklynne. I think he is subconsciously practicing to be a big brother.
Brooklynne could not keep her eyes off of Riley Jack. She was continually tracking Riley Jack and always wanted to know wear he was.

SEA WORLD
We waited all day to see Shamu! We finally got into a 7:30 show! Riley Jack was a real trooper...though he was a little pooped. We left Sea World around 8:30pm and after dropping Jordan off.... got back to Aunt MeeMee's at midnight!
Jordan is fabulous big brother. I stopped counting after 5....the number of times he chased after Riley Jack!
Jordan and Riley Jack go to SEA WORLD!
Here are a few pics of us at Sea World. It was our one excursion during my Spring Break. We were very fortunate to get Jordan and he was able to enjoy the day with us. It wouldn't have been the same without him.
Stephanie, Kelly and Theresa head to Boston for CEC 2008
Kelly and I, with our Department Head Theresa headed for Boston on April 2nd. Our purpose was to attend the National Council for Exceptional Children's Conference. Though we got off to a rocky start (I came down with the 24 hour yucky virous the day before we left) the rest of the trip was smooth sailing. We arrived Wednesday afternoon. We got settled into the Westin and headed out into the heart of Boston. We walked about 45 minutes to Fanueil Hall. The weather was a little brisk, so we made sure to bundle up. We walked through Quincy Market and made our way to enjoy a yummy lunch at KingFish Hall. (Theresa's friend recommended it not only for the food, but for the design of the resturant) We headed back to The Westin and got ready for opening ceremonies of The Council for Exceptional Children Convention. Henry Winkler was the guest speaker. You remember the Fonz??? Anyway, Henry struggled through school, made it...and is now a successful actor as well as children's book author.
We attended sessions through Saturday. One of the highlights was being asked to particpate in a forum for an Autism Publishing Co. They treated us to dinner on Thursday evening and asked Kelly and I plus about 10 other teachers to critique a social skills magazine. Very interesting.......
We enjoyed many fun afternoons and evenings out, waltzing down Newbury St., taking a trolley bus on a tour, and enjoying each others company. Not having to cook and eating out at yummy resturants was also a bonus! The yucky part about the trip was I lost my phone. Yikes! I have no recollection of losing it, it must of fallen out of my pocket. Anyway, to make a long story short, I pay insurance each month, so was able to quite easily get a replacement phone. The bad news....the replacement phone was a "refurbished" phone and that one had to be replaced as well. All is well with the phone situation now, plus.....a teacher from Mississippi found it, called me 10 days later and is hopefully shipping it to me as we speak. Yeah!
Kelly and I flew home Sunday am tired, but happy we went. Theresa stayed a few extra days with her sister who lives in Concord. Next year we plan to present at CEC, which means we need to get our booties in gear and write our proposal by the end of May. Wish us well.
More sights to see in Boston
Boston
At Fanuiel Hall in Quincy Market you will find a duplicate of the Famous Cheers Bar as seen in the popular sitcom. Though.....did you know this is a replica, the real Cheers is off of Newbury St.
We stayed at the Westin Copley Hotel. It was very nice, plus it was attached (about 1 1/2 mile walk) to the convention center.
Beautiful places to see in Boston
Jordan's Spring Break
After Jordan ran in his first track meet, he hopped on a plan Thurday evening 3-27 and flew to Atlanta. Officially beginning his Spring Break. We had hoped to go to the Atlanta Zoo on Saturday, but the rainy weather kept us away. We did get the boys pictures made together at Portrait Innovations Saturday morning, the biggest event on our social calendar. The highlight of Jordan's spring break was Cheryl (Baba) coming up to visit. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner out at Olive Garden (my favorite place). A typical day at church on Sunday followed. Jordan wanted to go to a pottery place to paint a piece or two, but those plans got abruptly cancelled when I came down with the dreaded 24 virus. OH MY GOSH! It was aweful! Jordan ended up taking care of me Monday night and all day Tuesday.....well sorta. He was a sport about the whole thing. We both flew out on Wednesday morning. Thankfully, I was feeling much better and able to travel.
