Happy Mother's Day

Riley Jack invited me to a yummy Mother's Day brunch at Kennesaw First Baptist where he attends preschool. He made some adorable things for me. A pretty orange flower with his cute little face in the middle. A white pot with a decopage picture of him in a man's jacket and tie. Way too cute. The mommies got to listen to a selection of songs that the kiddos had been working on all spring. Riley Jack sang loud and proud and did all of the hand movements. I'm so glad I'm Riley Jack's mommy.

After we enjoyed the Mother's Day Brunch, I took RJ with me to Acworth Beach where my students were enjoying being outside at the park and were awaiting the awards ceremony for Adaptive PE to begin. I couldn't resist snapping a few photos of RJ.

I love this picture of him caught unaware

Happy Birthday Riley Jack

Riley Jack had a great time at his 4th birthday party. We had it at The Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta. It was an hour and a half of fun fun fun. And no clean up for mommy. Yeah! I actually won the party at school from a fundraiser DECA was doing. The kids had a great time and some of the daddies joined in the fun.(jumping in the foam pit)
MollyClaire was such a good girl at RJ's party. She had a great time with Aunt Diane....who just wouldn't let her go. Diane, Jaimie and Autumn I'm so glad you could come.
Yummy Costco cake.......
MollyClaire getting her very first bite of cake....fed to her of course by Aunt Diane. Who I believe fed Riley Jack his first bite of cake at one of Autumn's birthday parties.

Tommy Nobis - Galaxy of the Stars

Kelly Bramblett holding her Governor's Award, and me holding my nomination plaque.
Theresa Reticker-Schultz (my dept. head), me, Kelly, and her parents - Mr. and Mrs. Jones @ the Waverly Renaissance for the Tommy Nobis Galaxy of the Star awards.
Michael joined us to help me celebrate.

In January The Mountain Top Cafe program and Buccaneer Brew (Kelly's coffee shop at Allatoona HS) were both nominated for best program Tommy Nobis Galaxy of the Star Award. Those of you that know me and Kelly, know they are one in the same. Kelly and I started The Mountain Top Cafe in 2004 at Kennesaw Mountain High School. We co-wrote a curriculum and incorporated a small business; Serving Up Success, Inc. Anyway, to make a long story short.......the powers that be at the Tommy Nobis contacted our department heads and they made the decision to leave us both nominated just in different areas. I stayed in the program nomination and Kelly went in the professional advocate category. We were all invited to a fancy luncheon at the Waverly Renaissance in April. There were five categories with a handful of nominations in each category. From the winners of each category.....they would choose an overall winner for the Governors Award. Kelly......won her category as well as The Governors Award. Her mom and dad and her husband Marc were there to celebrate. It was a great day for both of us ......because our idea of students working and learning transition skills was being celebrated. It wasn't bad PR for Serving Up Success either.

Jordan on Spring Break

I think he is laughing......no wait he is posing...actually, he stepped in a hole Riley Jack had dug and fell down.

We took the kids bowling......what is it about my sunglasses that these boys can't leave alone.

What a good big brother...helping sissy drink her bottle.

We had a great time playing put put, of course Jordan had a great time as he is an expert putt putter.

Riley Jack on Spring Break

After sharing the cute pictures of MC I decided to blog a page for each kiddo. So here are a couple of cute pics of Riley Jack in Panama City on Spring Break. We had a great relaxing time during spring break. We spent Sat to Sat in a condo directly on the beach.

This pic was taken on Sunday our second day....after arriving very late Saturday evening, Riley Jack had to go down to the ocean right away. Surprisingly, he wasn't afraid to go in the water or anything.

hanging out in the condo...enjoying an ice cream sandwich...yummy

We were waiting on daddy and Jordan to get down riding the go carts....and RJ decided to try on my sunglasses.

Easter Egg Hunt

What a fun day. Who wouldn't love an Easter Egg Hunt? Of course, even though we were leaving for our vacation on the very same day we were not leaving until Riley Jack had the opportunity to participate. So there....The city of Kennesaw hosted the Easter Egg hunt at Swift Cantrell Park. We drove the short distance to the park...early of course, and Jordan and Riley Jack played till the time came to hunt eggs. Samuel and his mommy, daddy and sister joined us for this fun filled morning as well.

Jordan has a hold of the two boys...he had strict instructions to keep his eye on them...he took his job very seriously. Go boys go.

Bunny Breakfast

On a very rainy Saturday morning, the Barber Family headed to visit the Easter Bunny. Every year, Legacy Park HOA hosts a bunny breakfast, and this year I signed us up to go. Michael of course grumbled about having to be dragged there. Too bad sooooooo sad. In the end the breakfast was great, and Riley Jack sat on the Bunny's lap without one little fuss. Wow. You go Riley Jack, I am so proud of you.
