He goes after it like a pro.....

and throws it to first base

Riley Jack 2nd at bat....

RJ's first scheduled T-ball game rained out, so we celebrated his first game last Sunday afternoon. It was beautiful afternoon and RJ was ready to play. Daddy and Pop Pop had been working with him in the back yard. Though he is left handed, we can't decide if he will hit or catch with what hand. He seemed to have a great time. His team is the Tigers

Touch a Truck in Kennesaw - March 21st

On Saturday, we enjoyed a few hours in downtown Kennesaw climbing on, waiting in line for, and "driving" anything on wheels. Kennesaw put on a great event where kids, young and old could check out all of kinds of big trucks. We enjoyed free hotdogs and saw several people we knew. Riley Jack's favorite "truck".......the school bus. My favorite part, the cotton candy.

Riley Jack spent much of his time with his hands over his ears. The kids at the event had free reign over the horns.....

Riley Jack's favorite was the school bus.......go figure

Michael Barber......Lullwater, Yard of the Month (March)

Okay, I'm sorry, but I just have to giggle out loud.
Cheryl calls me at school on a Tuesday and shares the good news that unbeknowest to her, a sign has been placed in our yard. She shares that Michael has won Yard of the Month. Now, there is no prize, no monetary award, no gift certificate, just the braggin rights that go along with planting that sign in our yard. This is all very funny to us b/c all Michale did was refresh the pine straw and add 5 plants......with flowers. Our good friend Ben won yard of the month for his subdivision of Gramercy and the joke is.....1 he is a landscaper......2 he had no flowers in his yard at the time.
So.....what does it take to win yard of the month in a subdivision with over 500 homes......pine straw and some pretty posies.

I love you Michael....I think it looks beautiful

Riley Jack face plants

So....the story goes like this....Riley Jack, MollyClaire and I were taking a stroll around Legacy Park Circle to turn in our breakfast with Bunny registration form. On the return home; of course Riley Jack had to get out of the stroller and walk. I kid you not, he took two steps and tripped over his feet and face planted onto the concrete. His brain didn't even have time to tell his hands to catch his fall. Yikes. His nose is gushing blood and he won't wipe it on my shirt. We called daddy to the rescue...He came in the van with a towel to wipe up the blood. Riley Jack was so brave and he wouldn't even ride home with daddy, instead he rode home in the stroller with his sister. You would have been proud of me, I didn't freak out at all.....(though I did think his nose was broken) my sister, however, who gets faint at the sight of blood. Hopefully, Brooklynne will never bleed. JK sister.
Riley Jack was a little emotional about his injury. This happened on a Thursday and he had to go to school on Friday, well....he didn't want his friends at school to see his face,(though we made him go anyway) nor would he go to Sunday School at church....He eventually was able to face everyone.

His lip the day before was all swollen, it was pitiful....as soon as the scabs hardened, he began to pick them off........ughhhh!

Let it Snow!

Okay, so this post is about a month overdue....but at least you get to see pictures of the snow. It was a balmy Sunday morning the last day in February, and I stayed home from church.....Riley Jack wasn't feeling well and we didn't want to pass it on. The snow started around 10:30am and I promise it snowed steady for about 5 hours. Riley Jack stood out in it for less than a minute. Too bad it wasn't cold enough for it to stick. It was a beautiful sight to watch though.

Modular Dedication February 22nd, 2009

After much prayer, several years, and a lot of hard work, our pastor (Nate Nielson) and our elder board (of which Michael is the expansion elder) dedicated the modular buildings we now have on our property at Town Center Community Church. The classrooms will be used as a youth room as well as much needed space for classrooms. They are beautiful!

Michael thanking all those who contributed to the modular units as well as the patio area behind the church... A shout out to Jason Clark, who Michael forgot to mention...

The Tennessee Aquarium with the Joyners

Michael and I had the opportunity to hang out with Bernie and Faith at the TN Aquarium with their beautiful daughters Anneliese and Coralyn this past Saturday. We had a great time catching up and spending quality time with our kiddos. Anneliese and Riley Jack became fast friends and had a great time with each other. They both would take the lead through out the day and were content to just be together. It was a great day.

The two cuties cheesing it up

hugging on each other in the shark cage of all places

MollyClaire did great, the only time she got really fussy was during lunch, but she was super tired and dropped off in my lap as soon as she ate her lunch.

Tubby Time

Since MollyClaire started sitting up, the kiddos have been bathing together in the big tub. MollyClaire enjoys her seat most of the time. She is great in the bath and loves having her brother close by.

Working hard on his Valentines

Riley Jack had to take a Valentine Box to school so he would have something to put all of his Valentines in of course. He was very excited about this and we worked on the box for several days. We also worked very hard on his Valentines. He was so excited about his Valentines we had them addressed to all of his friends about a week early. He drew little smiley faces on each one. Little did I know...instructions were to follow...whoops, we had to redo all of the Valentines addressed To friend From Riley Jack, instead of addressing each Valentine with a name. Anyway, he had a great time and got lots of sugary sweets and sweet Valentines from his friends at Kennesaw First Baptist Christian School.
